The Day of the Lord will come // January 21, 2024

Cedarview Alliance Church,

“Blessed be the name of the Lord”. There’s power in this phrase! Sometimes it is uttered because we have just experienced something wonderful, or an answer to prayer, or relief to a great sorrow – and in that case it returns our hearts to God with gratitude. But there’s power, great power, when we say this even in difficulty. Perhaps while we are still waiting for the longings of our hearts, or while enduring an unwelcome trial. In the book of Job, Job himself endures painful, immeasurable loss and yet reminds himself that God is trust worthy and the giver of all life. And this is where that verse is found: “Blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job 1:21.

This Sunday, January 21st, we continue in our I Thessalonians “Life Under Pressure” series. The text is I Thess 5:1-11 and the title is “The Day of the Lord will come”. Fresh hope amidst great challenges has a way of focusing our attention and remembering God is good, he has planned ahead for us and can be trusted whether today is a hard or joyful. There’s power unleashed when we worship! Looking forward to experiencing that with you this Sunday,

In His presence,

Pastor Mike
