Welcome – Call to Worship
Build Your Kingdom Here:
His Mercy Is More:
During this time of confusion and uncertainty, we look to Your word as a source of comfort and hope. As You have been our peace, our security, and our strength throughout history, we profess You to be so in our present circumstances.
While we cannot say for certain where or how You are working, we trust that You are making all things work together to bring glory to Yourself.
Father, this morning make us aware of our role as ambassadors of Your kingdom- as we interact on social media, through phone calls, and other methods of communication, let our confidence in You be clear and evident to those whom You are calling us to witness to.
Make us sensitive to how great an opportunity we have to deepen our connection with our children, our spouses, and our families, to slow our lives down. Give us also the patience we need to live in such close space with them as well.
God, we thank You for our church body, for community, and we ask that You would comfort those who are lonely at this time, and bless those who continue to reach out to them.
We want to lift up the Newar family as well, with the passing of Debbie Turner just a few days ago. We pray for Your comfort among Nick, Annette, as well as her daughter Hope and her family. May You bless them at this time, and be with them as they grieve.
As we turn our attention to our offerings, we recognize also that many among us may be struggling financially who are unable to work. God, look after us all, and again, help us to look to You as our provider as we give to You in trust.
Our worship regularly includes the giving of tithes and offerings and we dedicate it together to Christ and his mission through the church to our neighbours and to the nations. Without gathering physically, there are still ways to participate – click here to see some options or to ask questions.
“The people rejoiced over the offerings, for they had given freely and wholeheartedly to the LORD…” 1 Chronicles 29:9
John 16:31-17:12 New International Version (NIV)
31 “Do you now believe?” Jesus replied. 32 “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Jesus Prays to Be Glorified
17 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4 I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.
Jesus Prays for His Disciples
6 “I have revealed you[a] to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. 7 Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. 8 For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me. 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them. 11 I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of[b] your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by[c] that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.
Praise to the Lord:
