Rev. Kathryn Klassen
Kathy was born in Ethiopia, East Africa to Missionary Parents. She spent the first 16 years of her life there then relocated with her family to Canada where she finished her high school and completed degrees at Briercrest Bible College and the University of Waterloo. While there, she was invited to work with the Navigators of Canada, a parachurch disciple-making ministry. she worked in university, community, and national settings with them for 12 years. Kathy started attending First Alliance Church, and shortly after was invited to pastor in their multi-cultural congregation as their adult discipleship pastor. During her 16 years there, God took her deeper in her walk with Him, and birthed in her a desire to help others do the same. She presently ministers in the Eastern Canadian District of the C&MA as the Director of Relational and Spiritual Vitality, helping bring renewal to their 87+ churches. Kathy’s heart is to see everyone enter into the abundant life Jesus promised and walk that out authentically, resulting in others wanting to follow Jesus too.
Mistissini Project & Silent Auction
Our missions focus this year is Mistissini - a Cree Reserve in Northern Quebec with a population of 3500. Cedarview has sent teams to this area to help run a summer sports camp for the last two years. We are looking at helping the camp with a number of projects including building a dock, upgrading outhouses, Bible study resources, and permanent sports fixtures. There will be a silent auction at the retreat with various baskets to bid on, with all proceeds going to support this project.
